Журнал Rolling Stone (выпуск № 963) опубликовал список 500 лучших песен всех времён[1] 9 декабря 2004 года. Список был составлен на основе опроса 172 известных музыкантов и музыкальных критиков. Несмотря на это, список отличается сугубым субъективизмом и высокой степенью относительности.
В мае 2010 года, а затем в апреле 2011 года списки были обновлены.[2][3]
