VR Group (фин. VR-Yhtymä Oy, швед. VR-Group Ab) — государственная железнодорожная компания Финляндии. Занимается грузовыми и пассажирскими железнодорожными перевозками. Длина путей 5 794 км.

История

Основана в 1862 году и называлась «Финляндские железные дороги» (фин. Suomen Valtion Rautatiet) до 1922 года.

VR и РЖД

Сотрудничество Финских и Российских железных дорог началось со времен их создания и прерывалось только во время Финской войны и Великой Отечественной войны.

Пассажирские международные поезда

  • С 12 декабря 2010 года взамен «Сибелиуса» и «Репина» ходит поезд Allegro.

Грузоперевозки

По железным дорогам VR также курсирует немало товарных поездов, большинство из которых российские.

Электрификация VR

Все железные дороги Финляндии электрифицированы переменным током. Поэтому на участке Выборг-Бусловская используются тепловозы М62 и двухсистемный электровоз Вл-82.Сами же Финские железнодорожники используют электровозы Bombardier и НЭВЗ.
