Queen

The Cross — британская рок-группа, основанная барабанщиком группы Queen Роджером Тэйлором. Существовала с 1987 по 1993 годы, за это время выпустила 3 студийных альбома и 9 синглов. Звучание группы изменялось с каждым альбомом: Shove It смешивал рок и танцевальную музыку; Mad, Bad and Dangerous to Know был ближе к хард-року, а Blue Rock смешивал элементы хард-рока и хеви-метала.

Состав группы

Основателем и фронтменом группы был барабанщик Queen Роджер Тэйлор, однако в The Cross он никогда не играл на ударных: он исполнял вокальные партии и партии ритм-гитары. На ударных в группе играл Джош Макрэ, на гитаре — Клейтон Мосс, на бас-гитаре — Питер Нун, на клавишных — Спайк Эдни. Также они исполняли бэк-вокальные партии.

История

Тэйлор сформировал группу после окончания Magic Tour'а группы Queen. Он пригласил клавишника Спайка Эдни, работавшего с Queen, и объявил о наборе музыкантов в группу.

The Cross не имели большого коммерческого успеха, хотя альбому Shove It всё же удалось достичь 58-й строчки британских чартов[1], синглам Shove It — 82 строчки, Heaven for Everyone — 83-й строчки и Power to Love — 85-й строчки[2].
