Volition, Inc. разработала серию игр Descent: FreeSpace, издававшуюся Interplay Entertainment. После банкротства Interplay компанию в сентябре 2000 года приобрел издатель видеоигр THQ.[1]. После этого компания выпустила довольно успешные игры Red Faction, Summoner, The Punisher и Saints Row.
