[франц. polarization, от лат. polaris — относящийся к полюсу; греч. mikros — малый и scopeo — смотрю, рассматриваю, наблюдаю]микроскоп, приспособленный для анализа анизотропных объектов (т.е. имеющих неоднородные оптические свойства) в поляризованном свете; одним из элементов П.м. является поляризатор, установленный между источником света и объектом. Применяется для изучения взаимодействия образцов с поляризованным светом, в результате чего нередко удается выявлять структуру объектов, лежащую за пределами обычного оптического разрешения.Толковый биотехнологический словарь.
