Index.htm

Index.htm, Index.html (англ. Index «указатель» + .htm/.html — расширение) — традиционное название головного файла веб-сайта, написанного языком гипертекстовой разметки HTML.

Этот файл ищется веб-сервером по умолчанию, если не указан другой файл в URL. Некоторые веб-серверы считают файлом по умолчанию default.htm. Если ни один из этих файлов не существует на сервере, сервер может выдать или листинг всех файлов указанного каталога, или какую-либо ошибку доступа (404 или 405).
