Slowly We Rot (рус. Медленно мы гниём) — дебютный студийный альбом американской дэт-метал группы Obituary, вышедший 14 июня 1989 года на лейбле Roadrunner Records.

Об альбоме

Slowly We Rot является одним из ключевых альбомов дэт-метала и признан одним из лучших в творчестве группы Obituary.[1] Именно в Slowly We Rot установились характерные черты музыки группы: очень низкий гроулинг, тяжёлые гитарные риффы Тревора Переса и Аллена Веста, сильно опущенные гитары.

Альбом подвергался жёсткой критике прессы из-за якобы «непрофессионального владения инструментами» и «отвратительной обложки», однако фанаты метала оценили уникальный вокал Джона Тарди, сложные ударные и интересные гитарные партии на альбоме.[2]

Slowly We Rot был посвящён другу группы, который погиб незадолго до записи альбома.
