Psygnosis Limited

Компания была основана в Ливерпуле в 1984 году под именем Psygnosis Limited. Была одной из ведущих компаний разработчиков компьютерных игр в Европе. Логотип компании - белая сова, символ мудрости.

Компания была поглощена Sony Corporation в 1993 году, сыграла ключевую роль в запуске Sony PlayStation в 1994 году.

В конце 1998 года Eidos Interactive купила европейские подразделения Psygnosis. Американские подразделения Psygnosis оставались в собственности Sony.

В 2000 году, Psygnosis (как бренд Sony) отошли от рынка видеоигр навсегда. Все американские студии были закрыты. Студия в Великобритании была поглощена SCEE и переименована в SCE Studio Liverpool, и стала частью SCE Worldwide Studios.

22 августа 2012 года стало известно, что SCEE приняло решение закрыть SCE Studio Liverpool и отменить все новые проекты, создаваемыми силами студии, последней игрой которой стала Wipeout 2048 для PS Vita. По слухам, SCE Studio Liverpool занималась WipEoutдля PS4, а также игрой в стиле Splinter Cell (возможно, новой частью Syphon Filter) для новой домашней консоли от Sony.
