Vitascope (вайтоскоп, витаскоп ранее «фантаскоп» Phantoscope)— один из ранних прототипов современных проекционных аппаратов, впервые был продемонстрирован под именем Phantoscope в Атланте в 1895 году американскими изобретателями Чарльзом Френсисом Дженкинсоном и Томасом Эрмейтом позже права на аппарат были проданы Kinetoscope Company, которая после ряда усовершенствований начала массовое производство аппаратов представляя новинку как изобретение Томаса Эдисона под названием «Vitascope», первая публичная демонстрация которого состоялась 23 апреля 1896 в Koster and Bial’s Music Hall в Нью-Йорке.

В связи с началом продаж компанией Эдисона в ноябре 1896 собственной разработки — Projectoscope производство и рекламная компания вайтоскопов была приостановлена. Тем не менее вайтоскопы получили значительное распространение, опережая в ряде стран и городов появление кинематографа.
