Согласно вокалисту Дэвиду Дрейману, «Guarded», о том, как его образ жизни вынуждает его охранять себя. Он сказал, «Это — песня, которая отражает то, что выбор этой жизни вынуждает определенных людей сделать определенным способом — Вы должны остаться осторожными на определенном уровне.»[1]
