Воздушно-закаливаемая сталь.
Сталь, содержащая достаточно углерода и других легирующих элементов, чтобы упрочниться полностью во время охлаждения на воздухе или в других газообразных средах, предварительно нагретая выше температуры преобразования. Термин должен быть ограничен сталями, которые являются способными к упрочнению, охлаждаясь на воздухе в довольно больших до 50 мм и более сечениях. То же самое, как и самозакаливаемые стали.
