Стив Роуч (англ. Steve Roach) (родился в 1955 г. в Ла-Меса, Калифорния) американский композитор, пионер эмбиента. Его основное направление - это абстрактные мелодии без ритма (beatless), но он также создал немало ритмических, трансовых и трибально-этнических произведений. Некоторые записи состоят исключительно из синтезаторной музыки, в то время как другие включают в себя эксперименты с гитарой или даже содержат этнические элементы. Основой его инновационного звучания явилось большое количество концертов по всему миру. Выпуск первого альбома в 1982 запустил нескончаемую волну релизов. Он одним из первых применил диджериду в эмбиенте и учился на нем играть в течении многих путешествий по Австралии в 80-х. В дальнейшем Роуч работал с мексиканским музыкантом Хорхе Реесом (Jorge Reyes), что в последствии привело к созданию уникального стиля - трибального эмбиента (tribal-ambient). Умение Роуча создавать, органические, замедляющие время, абстракции достигло наивысшей точки в 2003 году с выпуском 4-х дискового опуса Mystic Chords & Sacred Spaces. Позже он продолжил совершенствование этого стиля в серии альбомов Immersion. Альбомы Possible Planet и New Life Dreaming возвращают то открытое, дышащее звучание, которое впервые можно было услышать на Structures From Silence и Dreamtime Return, двух ориентирах жанров New Age и Ambient.
