SIMBAD

SIMBAD (англ. Set of Identifications, Measurements, and Bibliography for Astronomical Data, Набор идентификаторов, измерений и библиографии астрономических данных НИИБАД ) — база данных астрономических объектов, лежащих за пределами Солнечной системы. Поддерживается Центром астрономических данных в Страсбурге, Франция.

SIMBAD был создан в 1972 году, а в 1981 появилась первая интерактивная онлайн версия базы данных.

На 30 июня 2008 SIMBAD содержал информацию о 3 964 830 небесных объектах с 11 888 781 различными наименованиями, 221 499 библиографических ссылок и 5 916 889 цитат.

В честь базы данных назван астероид 4692 SIMBAD (1983 VM7).
