Bullshit (англ.  дословно — бычье дерьмо) — широко распространенный в англоязычных странах, прежде всего США и Великобритании, сленговый термин, означающий неправильное, некорректное утверждение.

Хотя оригинальное употребление носило чисто негативный характер, теперешнее значение является более широким и может подразумевать, например, искусство владения языком, фривольность и проч. Глубокий анализ и толкование слово получило в статье Гарри Франкфурта [1], где автор проводит разделение между такими понятиями как ложь и bullshit. Лжецом, согласно Франкфурту, является тот, кто знает правду и сознательно её скрывает, тогда как, человек, говорящий bullshit, bullshitter [булшиттер], вообще не заинтересован в истине и лишь стремится достичь своих, порой корыстных, целей. Такое разделение становится общепринятым и имеет широкие социальные импликации в средствах массовой информации и политике.
