Metallyticidae  (лат.) — семейство богомолов (Mantodea). Около 5 видов. ^[2]

Описание

Встречаются в Юго-восточной Азии.^[2] Отличаются от всех богомолов своей блестящей зеленовато-синей окраской, сходной с жуками златками. Тело (1—2 см) дорзовентрально сплющенное. Передвигаются располагая тело близко к земле, как тараканы. Встречаются на деревьях и под корой, где охотятся на тараканов. ^[3][4][5] Вместе с семейством Chaeteessidae считаются одной из самых примитивных групп богомолов (короткий проторакс, жилкование крыльев, сходное с тараканами). ^[6] При исследовании гениталий самцов (Klass 1997) была ^[7] построена кладограмма, в которой семейства Mantoididae, Chaeteessidae и затем Metallyticidae первыми дивергировали от общего корневого ствола богомолов. ^[8]
