The Albanians began to settle in Australia from the early 1920s settling in Northern Queensland, WA and Shepparton in Victoria. This ended with the commencement of World War 2. After that migration commence in 1950s from Albania being escappees from communism as well as Greece, Southern Italy and Kosovo, and from 1990s from Albania, Montenegro, and the Republic of Macedonia as refugees from the wars which ravaged the region in those years.
