The Slade Professorship of Fine Art is the senior professorship of
art at the universities of Cambridge, Oxford and London. The chairs were founded concurrently in1869 by a bequest from the art collector and philanthropistFelix Slade , withstudentship s also created in the University of London. The studentships allowed for the creation of theSlade School of Art , now part ofUniversity College London . The chair at Oxford is named after the first holderJohn Ruskin .Slade Professors,
