Elections in Montenegro

Montenegro elects on national level a legislature and a head of state. The Assembly of Montenegro ("Skupština") has 81 members elected for a four year term. The President of Montenegro is elected at large with a runoff if need be. Montenegro has a multi-party system, with numerous parties in which no one party often has a chance of gaining power alone, and parties must work with each other to form coalition governments.
